XRP price history stretches back to February 2013, when the token first appeared on exchanges at just $0.00589. In those early years the price barely moved, hovering under a cent while the XRP Ledger quietly processed cross-border payments for financial institutions worldwide.

The first major price event came in late 2013, when XRP briefly touched $0.06 — a ten-fold increase in weeks. A long consolidation followed, and by mid-2014 XRP had fallen to an all-time low of $0.0028. The 2015–2016 period was quiet, with prices ranging between $0.005 and $0.01.

The historic 2017 bull run transformed XRP. Starting the year at $0.006, the token joined the broader crypto rally in May 2017 and closed December at $2.30. By January 7, 2018, XRP had reached approximately $3.37, briefly making it the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. XRP's market cap surpassed $130 billion at the peak.

XRP launched in February 2013 at $0.00589, and within a decade had surged to an all-time high of $3.65 in July 2025.

After the 2018 correction, XRP spent years in the $0.20–$0.50 range. The SEC lawsuit filed in December 2020 pushed the price down to $0.17 before a remarkable 2021 recovery. In mid-2025, following resolution of the legal battle and renewed institutional interest, XRP established a new all-time high of $3.65.
